System description

This aeromagnetic system was created based on Geoscan 401 industrial quadcopter and quantum magnetometer with rubidium magnetic field sensor, and combines their benefits together.

It can perform precise aeromagnetic survey at extremely low altitudes in any terrain conditions due to proximity relief-follow flight.

With Geoscan Geophysics system you can explore volumetric parameters of magnetic field. This is possible using altitude-differential survey and vertical profile calculation. New data analysis and interpretation methods allow creating geomagnetic models with breakthrough authenticity level.

Unmanned survey method is most efficient for mid-sized areas from 10 to 500 km2, especially in rough terrain conditions. At this point, using manned aviation (planes, helicopters) turns out to be extremely unprofitable, while surface-based survey is too time-consuming.

Method efficiency

Aeromagnetic survey is usually performed at 36 km/h (10 m/s) and at altitudes from 25 to 500 m. Max flight time depends on multiple conditions, and usually is close to 1 hour. This is enough to perform 22 km of survey routes including necessary maneuvers.

Max deviation from planned flight route is 0.6 m. Using spare batteries makes possible to perform 12-16 flight in one day, which results in 160-220 km surveyed.
